Cheswick Sands, Northumberland.
Cheswick Sands is one of the biggest beaches in Northumberland and possibly the best. It is a vast beach that stretches as far as the eye can see. If you enjoy beach walking this one is a must. You have to walk to reach it in the first place.
At the north end of the beach you can see past Berwick to the Border on a clear day, while to the south Holy Island with it's castle is in full view. Few beaches offer such unspoilt views as this.
View south along the vast beach at Cheswick Sands.
Views north towards Berwick and the border.
Flat sands, a calm sea and rocks to explore - a perfect summer combination.
View of the large dunes.
